Greetings and Welcome to the new Mapleink site!
Things have been rather slow of late, and previous visitors to the sight will recall that the forums used to be hosted on my webspace at spacylittlecowgirl.net.
Well, it so happens that i seriously screwed up my website last week and needed to migrate all of my data to a new account. I had been planning on setting up webspace for Maple Ink for some time, so I figured I’d take the opportunity to give Maple Ink the space and attention it deserves.
As a result, Maple Ink is no longer a redirection, but has its own brand spankin’ new webspace!
Things are still very much in flux, and a variety of templates are being installed to the updated forums. We’ll probably see a poll on basic designs we’d like to keep within the next week or so, and after that, I’ll continue to customize the forum design for our use.
There are a few things I’ve already added to the blog itself;
- at the top of the site, you will see a link to a website directory - this currently lists art blog/resource sites and convention sites. It *may* be expanded to a full directory for MIC members, however that decision has not been firmed up as of yet.
- An event listing for meetups, conventions, book releases, etc, will also appear on the right hand side.
- This blog is now directly linked to the MapleInk account on Twitter. We won’t be seeing Twitter posts here on the blog, however, all new posts to the blog will be announced on Twitter. This is particularly useful for those who have a Twitter account and would like to keep informed of updates (but who don’t use RSS).
A few other things that may happen include member submission of blog posts, for things like website updates, event listings. There IS some capacity for uploading graphics for posting on the blog, but as a whole it would be preferable if blog postings not be used as galleries.
Finally, there are a couple of threads on the forums right now discussing the renewed development of the site. If you have some input you’d like to share, please feel free to comment on either thread, or perhaps respond in comment to this blog post.
We’d really like to hear your thoughts!
